Parents, should you wait up at night for your teenagers to come home?

The research says, “YES.” You should stay up and wait for your teenagers to get home. This is not the only way to prevent their abusing alcohol and other drugs, but it does help. Why might waiting up for your children be important?

This means your children know you are monitoring them and are concerned about whether they are drinking or not.

So when your teens get home, get close, give them a hug and if they smell like alcohol, let them know and there will be a conversation in the morning.
